Allow changing price of a rental even while rented out#37

It would stop the present price listing and when 24hrs is up for current payment card would be listed at new price

?

This could be viable if it couldn’t be used for a bait and switch tactic. So, it would have to cancel any recurring rentals.

Maybe, but the rentee must accept before the new price goes active, so they could have the option to decline, in which case the rental would end and be relisted with the new price

This would be unfair for people who rent cards. It’s the owners fault for putting it up on the market for a cheap price anyway so why allow this one? Owners can already cancel their card if they want to change the price of their rentals so I don’t see this feature being beneficial for both parties. Only for owners

This is a really bad idea. it could set up for a possible “bill shock” if you will. Especially difficult for new players who have only small amount of DEC to spare. A rental is a contract. The way it is done now is already fine since the cancellation explicitly indicates that a rental price change would probably occur and allows the renter to take that into account.

Changing the price of a RENTAL is already possible. It just takes 2 steps… this would change it to 1 step but the end result would be the same it would stop the listing and change the price and a new renter would come in when new price is active.

Oh I get it now. So this would basically just save time by not having to relist the card using another transaction. This would be very useful

im not sure what the actual proposal is, i agree there should be some acceptance on the retners part to agree to the new price. I deally im thinking there should be two types of rentals contract and non contract. contract rentals cant be broken non contract can and work as they do today
