Earn Starter Cards Via Quests#223

In order to better implement lore into the game and improve the new player experience to give them an initial sense of progression, I would like to see the starter cards earned by completing quests against prebuilt opponents.

For example, new players might start with a base set of fire starter cards. They go through a tutorial playing the game and showcasing lore in order to earn more starter fire cards. Then they progressive to harder battles teaching new mechanics to unlock the additional splinters. Maybe even include some additional starter cards as the first cards players earn from their daily quests boxes. Just all as a way to emerse a new player into Splinterlands without giving them free cards with resell value that would damage the economy.

And make it an impressive single player campaing a la heartstone or eternal card game while ur at it, put those extra devs & content budget to use :-)

This mechanic would also reduce bots if they had to play games to earn the spellbook starter cards, instead of just getting them with the spellbook. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but it would be an additional task.

yeah this is great and you can have some small animation or story when they earn the card. I agree every good game needs the constant building up, thats what is fun about it achieving goals and growing.
