We have been having a major issue in lower league leaderboards where botted alternate, or active alternate accounts get undelegated cards or expire on rentals so that they then drop to a lower league, carry over their rating, and then start either targeting their own accounts with timed matches to surrender their 3000+ rating diamond+ to another one of their top 10 silver accounts for +36 rating gains for example (doubt it’s the only league facing the problem), or unintentionally with a bot and then mass feeding whoever happens to be seeking matches during the time-frame where a bot continuously registers teams with no cards, making the leaderboard more about RNG and timing of play AND also leaving leaderboards open for exploiting.
I propose that we either:

I really don’t want to see anymore +36 rating boosts given to 1st place. It should be made impossible for this to happen.

I really like the ‘lock’ idea.
I agree, I like the idea that as soon as you progress to the next league you only play opponents from that league or higher for the remainder of the season.
“Reset rating upon [falling] leagues to a point before the requirement for the next league, so that giving a top player on the board +36 rating per match is not possible.”
This is the worst possible thing you could suggest. I play in gold but sit in bronze when I’m not playing. If you make me choose between dropping from gold 2/1 rating to bronze 2/1 rating and not playing, I’ll choose to not play.
If anyone is required to rent cards to play in the league they want to play in, the game is unplayable for them and judging by the end of season rental prices, 99% of the players don’t have the power that they want or they wouldn’t pay $10 just to rent enough power to be in silver 2/3 at the end of the season.
The problem with this, is that it would also punish real players if they happen to lose while they are on the border of the next league when trying to move up. Imagine fighting your way up the league table, and then losing just one battle and then having to start from the very bottom of the league again (or at the bottom of a league and losing). It’s ok for players who are at the top of a league (and intend to stay there) to want this, but not for players who want to move up in leagues (or down). You could have one bad battle (or unlucky one) and then be forced to grind all the way back up, only because of one bad or unlucky match. No, it would remove the choice and/or punish and annoy real players even more than bots. How about when there are server issues, and real players are made to flee because of something that is out of their control? There are many things to consider, before making drastic changes such as this.
To the post above, this isn’t resetting you back to the beginning of the league, it resets you to the end of the league you fell to, with only a point to go before advancing back to the next league.
